The Italian Chapel was two nisssen huts converted by the Italian Prisoners of War who were brought to the islands to assist in construction of the Churchill Causeways. It is intricately painted inside with a beautiful iron rood screen and concrete facade. All the materials were sourced from the things they had left over from their work or from the nearby sunken block ships. The building is a testament to the prisoners who worked on it in very trying times of war. It is a place of peace. We have car and coach parking on site and are a 5 minute walk from the bus stop at the end of the road. Entry is £4.00 per person with under 13 years free.
