Hello SassYDawG - there are parking garages in the area. The closets to the Castle is Parking Garage Parkhauser Hauptmarkt.

It comes down to have you been to another Germany old town? If not, then it is a yes. If you have and enjoyed the other one, then I would go. If you do like seeing old buildings/walls or moats, then do not go. I like old buildings and places so it was a yes for me. We saw over 6 old towns in a 7 day period. I like them all. Each had a little difference. I am not saying that it is a full day but a few hours and see where it goes from there.
