Mayor Brandon Johnson on Monday indicated further applicants should throw their hats in the ring to be Chicago Public Schools CEO.

The candidates, whose names were shared by sources close to the search, were scheduled to be interviewed next week.

Meisha Ross Porter, who oversaw New York City public schools during COVID, is also being floated as possible schools chancellor pick for Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.
