Investing.com-- Gold prices rose to record highs on Monday, buoyed by increased safe haven demand after US President Donald Trump announced more trade tariffs, this time aimed at commodity imports. At 08:50 ET (13:50 GMT), Spot gold rose 1.5% to a record high $2,901.30 an ounce, while gold futures expiring in April rose 1.3% to $2,926.35 an ounce.
