Backlash, WWE's first premium live event since WrestleMania 40, takes place on Saturday at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. It's the first in history that a major WWE event (PLE/PPV) has taken place in France.

While four of the five matches at WWE Backlash have a title on the line, and three of those bouts have a singles strap on the line, it's hard to imagine the WWE Championship, the Women's Championship, or the World Heavyweight Championship changing hands at the first PLE of the month of May considering all three belts were won at WrestleMania 40.

Cody Rhodes, the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the electrifying crowd in Lyon, France, after successfully defending his title against AJ Styles at WWE Backlash 2024.

It was an unforgettable night for Cody Rhodes who defeated Roman Reigns to claim the Undisputed WWE Championship, and at Backlash, he successfully defended his title against AJ Styles. The highlight of the event was the astronomical noise level from the fans during Rhodes’ appearance.

Cody Rhodes was in the main event of WWE Backlash France where he defended his Undisputed Universal Championship against AJ Styles. Both WWE Superstars pushed each other to their limit with Rhodes walking out of the PLE with the title.
