A Florida deputy who was ambushed during a welfare check at a home early last month that left one deputy dead and another wounded has been released from the hospital.

Stefano Gargano, the deputy who was critically injured after being shot several times during the Lake County ambush attack, was released from HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital on Monday morning, officials confirmed.
