A federal judge has ordered Google to tear down the digital walls shielding its Android app store from competition

The injunction by U.S. District Judge James Donato in San Francisco outlined the changes Google must undertake to open up its lucrative app store, Play, to greater competition, including making Android apps available from rival sources.

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) said it is appealing a court verdict ruled in favor of Epic Games and the tech giant is asking courts to pause the remedies proposed by the online game store operator, which it alleges will hurt its ability to compete with rival Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).
