Firefighting teams in southern California have made significant progress battling three major wildfires thanks to cooler and wetter weather, authorities said.

Humidity, cooler temperatures help tip the odds against three California wildland fires at lower levels but peaks remain dry.

Cooler weather has significantly slowed the spread of the Airport, Bridge and Line fires and helped firefighters gain containment on Sunday.
