Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court on Monday upheld a lower court ruling that rejected a bid to get independent presidential candidate Cornel West on the ballot for the November election in the battleground state.

The Pa. Supreme Court decision cleared the way for counties to begin printing and sending out mail ballots. Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt has certified the official list of candidates.

Academic and activist Cornel West, who is running for president as an independent candidate, won’t be on the ballot in Pennsylvania, the state Supreme Court decided Monday in upholding a lower court’s ruling.

West is polling between 0% and 2% in most state and national 2024 polls, and his left-wing policy positions threaten to siphon away some votes from Harris.
