During July’s peak vacation season, Delta Air Lines was far from enjoying the dog days of summer. The July 19 CrowdStrike power outage —which battered millions of Microsoft operating systems —resulted in the airline canceling 7,000 flights over five days, which Delta CEO Ed Bastian said would cost the company $500 million.

The carrier unquestionably took a hit to its third-quarter performance, but does not expect it to make a major dent in its full-year earnings.

Delta Air Lines Inc. expects its full-year profit to be at or above the midpoint of its prior guidance, excluding the impact of a midsummer computer system outage, suggesting the carrier doesn’t see much lingering impact from a glitch that led to thousands of flight cancellations.

Flight disruptions caused by the CrowdStrike (CRWD) outage is expected to cost Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) $0.45 per share to third quarter earnings and increase the airline’s cost per available seat mile for the quarter.
