Calm returned to Wall Street, and U.S. stocks rallied, while oil prices gave back some of their initial spurts following Israel’s attack on Iranian nuclear and military targets at the end of last week.

Prices for Treasury bonds will likewise rise when investors are feeling nervous, but Treasury prices fell Friday, which in turn pushed up their yields, in part because of worries that a spike in oil prices could drive inflation higher.

U.S. stocks are rising on Wednesday as Wall Street waits to hear where the Federal Reserve may be taking interest rates. The S&P 500 was 0.5% higher in morning trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 244 points,
