This kind of heat is not normal for this time of year, and it’s coming in fast. A big ridge of high pressure sitting over the Gulf is pushing hotter, drier air across Florida.

Southern California is bracing for a surge of summerlike heat this week with inland temperatures expected to climb into the 90s and potentially hit the triple digits in the San Fernando Valley, according to the National Weather Service.

Some parts of the Inland Empire could reach a little over 100 degrees as a two-day burst of heat pushes through Southern California.
