Google has apologized to drivers who got sent on a wild off-roading detour trying to find an alternate route between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

A group of Los Angeles residents heading home from Las Vegas got stranded in the desert after Google Maps reportedly led them on an off-road adventure to avoid traffic caused by a dust storm.

Google has issued something of an apology after sending some drivers using Google Maps to travel between Los Angeles and Las Vegas on dangerous desert road detours, at least one of which turned out to be a road to nowhere that left people stranded.
