Senate Republicans have blocked a procedural vote to advance President Joe Biden's emergency bill to fund the defenses of Ukraine and other allies as they fight for inclusion of greater domestic border policy changes.

President Biden said he was willing to work with Republicans in Congress to do “significantly more” on border security in order to pass tens of billions of dollars in new aid for Ukraine, which runs out by the end of the year.

Biden at the White House warned of dire consequences for Kyiv -- and a "gift" to Russia's Vladimir Putin -- if Congress fails to pass a $110 billion package of wartime funding for Ukraine and Israel as well as other national security priorities.
