Israel and Iran have struck at one another again a week into their war as President Donald Trump weighs U.S. involvement and new diplomatic efforts appear to be taking place.

Iran launched hundreds of ballistic missiles towards Israel after its nuclear sites were hit by Israeli airstrikes overnight. Israel's defense system intercepted many of the missiles, with several appearing to have struck Tel Aviv.

The Israeli army launched new airstrikes in western Iran on Tuesday as the escalation continued to widen between the two regional arch-foes. Israel's public broadcaster reported the strikes, without giving any details about the targets struck.
