Israel may be trying to take advantage of a window: Iran has reportedly not yet rebuilt air defences which were degraded by an Israeli attack in October, and Iran’s strongest proxy in the region, Hezbollah in Lebanon, has been significantly weakened by Israeli action.

"Hezbollah is committed to the ceasefire agreement, even though Israel has not respected this commitment over the past period," the spokesperson said. "It continues to kill, assassinate, and attack areas, including entering border villages and remaining at the five points."

Israel launched its most extensive series of airstrikes on the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut on Thursday, as well as Ain Qana in south Lebanon, stating it targeted Hezbollah drone production and storage facilities.

Israel launched strikes against Iran on June 12, throwing further negotiations over the regime's nuclear program into doubt.

Iran's foreign minister calls Israel's attacks on its nuclear programme a "declaration of war" as the IDF says it intercepted retaliatory drones launched by Tehran.

Amidst escalating tensions over Iran's nuclear program, Israel launched preemptive strikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites, resulting in
