The US is waiting on Iran to respond to its proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end a war that’s killed thousands of people, with tensions still high in both the Persian Gulf and in Lebanon.

A group of Democratic U.S. senators have called for the U.S. Central Command to answer questions about American coordination with Israel in declaring broad "evacuation zones" in Lebanon and Iran, claiming the practice may violate international law.

Israel carried out several airstrikes Friday on southern Lebanon that killed at least 10 people, while the militant Hezbollah group said it fired rockets and drones at northern Israel where two soldiers were wounded.

Israeli strikes targeted three different medical teams in the span of mere minutes in southern Lebanon, killing four medics and wounding six.
