Bexar County officials on Tuesday voted to move forward with the mail registration plan, despite the lawsuit threat from AG Paxton.

The county told a state district court judge that the applications were already mailed out and any ruling would be moot.

Paxton also used the letter to further condemn what he called the "Biden-Harris administration's open border policies," saying that Texas has "ballooning noncitizen populations" that he suggested the county's voter registration mailer efforts would target.

Jolt, which advocates for more Latino voting participation, says the attorney general’s probe has spurred threatening comments online.

With less than a month to go until the deadline to register to vote in Texas, Attorney General Ken Paxton continues to target the issue of voter registration while civil rights groups express concern over the potential impact of his efforts.
