( NewsNation) — Bryan Kohberger, charged with killing four University of Idaho students in 2022, will attend a final pretrial hearing Thursday before his August trial. Prosecutors could reveal the alleged motive in the killings, a question that has loomed large over the case.

Prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty for the quadruple murders. Death by a firing squad is an option in Idaho.

A defense expert who may testify at trial believes the crime would have required two perpetrators and two weapons, a defense attorney said.
