Pope Francis made his first public appearance since leaving hospital two weeks ago, greeting crowds at the Vatican where he was pushed in a wheelchair on Sunday.

Pope Francis stepped out for his first public appearance at the Vatican since being discharged from the hospital in late March after coming down with pneumonia. The head of the Catholic Church, 88, appeared to be in good spirits while attending a Jubilee Mass on Sunday,

Good Friday is normally a busy day for Pope Francis, but he's still recovering from a hospitalization that lasted for more than one month. It hasn't fully stopped the 88-year-old pontiff who visited a prison on Holy Thursday.
