STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One lucky winner in New York City scored $1 million with a second-prize Powerball ticket. The New York Lottery announced the winning ticket for the Dec. 9 drawing was sold at Bridge Food Mart Corp., located at 427 Wythe Ave., in Brooklyn.

The current jackpot is estimated to be worth $435 million, with a cash value of $204.8 million. No one has won Powerball since Oct. 11, when a ticket in California won the lottery's $1.765 billion jackpot. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

With no winning jackpot tickets, the Powerball jackpot for the next draw on Monday is an estimated $412 million, with a cash value of $194 million.
