Russia sent waves of explosive drones to strike cities across Ukraine in the largest attack since last winter that likely marks the start of a fresh campaign aimed at demoralizing Ukrainians.

Russian authorities say that Ukraine tried to attack Moscow with dozens of drones. That's just a day after Ukrainian officials said Russia launched its most intense drone attack on Kyiv since the beginning of its full-scale war in 2022.

Finland will close its entire border with Russia on Wednesday night after accusing Moscow of orchestrating a surge of asylum seekers. Prime minister Petteri Orpo said the last remaining open border crossing at Raja-Jooseppi in the far north will shut for two weeks until 13 December.
