Firefighters continue to gain ground in their fight against the 39,111-acre Line Fire, which reached 49% containment Tuesday morning.

A Norco man accused of deliberately igniting the 39,000-acre Line fire that forced thousands of residents of Highland and the San Bernardino Mountains to flee pleaded not guilty to nine felony arson counts on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

A new wildfire was reported today at 6:14 a.m. in San Bernardino County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. Currently, the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Cal Fire said about four structures were damaged and one was destroyed based on the damage assessments so far.

Officials arrested a Norco man who they believe started the fire. Steep terrain is making the firefight difficult.

Hazel Fire initially started today at 4:04 p.m. in San Bernardino County. After being active for less than an hour, it has burned three acres of federal land managed by the United States Forest Service, an increase of two acres since the last update. At this time, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
