PGA Championship has already dealt with its fair share of weather worries this week. On Tuesday, a thunderstorm put a brief halt to practice rounds at Quail Hollow Club.

McIlroy won the Wells Fargo Championship, the normal PGA Tour stop at Quail Hollow, four times in his career. Although McIlroy has slightly longer odds than Scottie Scheffler to win the Wanamaker Trophy, he has to be viewed as the favorite.

It's been a wild 13-plus months for the top player on the PGA Tour. Scottie Scheffler, fresh off a dominant performance at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, continues to stack wins. Scheffler now has 14 PGA Tour victories and has won the Masters twice, in 2022 and 2024.

The PGA Championship may not have the gravitas of the other three majors, but lately it has produced banger after banger.
