North Texas residents looking forward to Memorial Day weekend may need to keep umbrellas—and backup plans—on hand as another round of severe weather is expected to move through the region. According to the National Weather Service in Dallas/Fort Worth,

Storm surveys are underway following a night of severe weather across North Texas. As of Monday, at least seven tornadoes have been confirmed in counties west of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, according to the National Weather Service.

Two EF-1 tornadoes were reported, which means they had wind gusts between 86-110 miles per hour. Both were in Palo Pinto County. The first tornado touched down about two miles north of Mingus and its path was about half a mile long, the weather service said. Its wind speeds peaked at 105 miles per hour.
