There is a significant threat of severe weather Monday with the possibility of strong, long-lived tornadoes, especially across the upper Midwest. The threat of severe storms stretches southward across the High Plains and into the Southern Plains as well.

"A regional severe weather outbreak still appears possible across the Upper Midwest, with a threat of strong to intense tornadoes, very large hail, and swaths of damaging winds," said NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in an update issued at 7:37 a.m. Monday.

Monday appears to be an interesting day for severe weather for Great Plains and Midwest states. The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service has forecasted an area extending from Kansas City all the way to Duluth to experience severe weather of all hazards.
