Tropical Storm Leslie forms in eastern Atlantic and could strengthen into a hurricane by this weekend, forecasters say

Leslie had winds of 40 miles per hour as it became a tropical storm in the Atlantic late Wednesday. Forecasters expect it to become a hurricane in a couple of days as it slowly moves northwest, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory.

Forecasters say there may be a few quiet days in the Caribbean in the aftermath of Hurricanes Milton and Helene. But there's potential late next week.
