The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to take up the gun industry’s appeal of a ruling allowing the Mexican government to proceed with its lawsuit against several prominent American firearm

The justices will consider whether a 2005 law that gives gun makers broad immunity applies in the case, which accuses them of complicity in supplying cartels with weapons.

The Supreme Court said Friday it will decide whether to block a $10 billion lawsuit Mexico filed against leading U.S. gun manufacturers over allegations their commercial practices have helped caused much bloodshed there.
