Lung inflammation and breathing difficulties forced Pope Francis to cancel several meetings, the Vatican said Monday.

ROME — Pope Francis postponed a series of meetings because of a lung inflammation and breathing difficulties, the Vatican said Monday morning.

Pope Francis, who is recovering from a lung inflammation, will attend the COP28 climate meeting in Dubai as planned, the Vatican said on Tuesday.

The Pope's health is stable and he has no fever but a lung inflammation associated with breathing difficulties persists, a Vatican statement said on Wednesday, adding Francis was continuing an antibiotic therapy.
