The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on a partisan spending plan that is seemingly doomed to fail. Republicans who forced Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to scrap a vote last week due to their intense opposition have said they have still not changed their positions on the bill.

The U.S. House of Representatives plans to vote Wednesday on a stopgap spending bill that would extend government funding for six months and require Americans to provide proof of citizenship when they vote,

The continuing resolution will continue current spending levels until Dec. 20 and will not include any additional spending for most government departments.
