In some regions, the NWS warned that the hazardous conditions could affect the commuters on Monday, as travel may become difficult or even impossible during periods of intense snowfall.
A strong polar cold front will bring the coldest air of the season so far with wintery precipitation for some to begin the work week. A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 7 PM Sunday through 7 AM Tuesday for Grayson and Bland counties,
“Patchy blowing snow” and wind chills near zero were expected in portions of Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Some areas had already received measurable snow, including 4 inches in southwest Minnesota and more than 5 inches in parts of northern Iowa.
