Deadline confirms that an animated Everybody Hates Chris animated reboot is currently in development. Rock will narrate the reboot as he did with the original series, but not much is known yet about the casting otherwise. The series is currently in the works at CBS but it has not received an official green light yet.

Chris Rock 's semi-autographical sitcom Everybody Hates Chris is getting an animated reboot. Per The Hollywood Reporter, CBS Studios is developing an animated re-imagining of Rock's live-action show, along with a U.S. remake of the Israeli drama Shtisel and a TV adaptation of Jamal Joseph's memoir Panther Baby.

Everybody Hates Chris will be rebooted as an animated series rather than a live-action follow-up to the acclaimed CW sitcom, according to Deadline. The animated reboot is currently being developed at CBS Studios with Sanjay Shah, showrunner for Apple TV+ animated musical series Central Park, who will serve as writer and executive producer.

Yesterday (Aug. 2), Deadline announced the sitcom was greenlit as an animated series. The new version will stream exclusively on Paramount+ and air on the linear network Comedy Central. The forthcoming series is titled “Everybody Still Hates Chris.” After its debut on UPN, the popular program moved to The CW.

A cartoon reboot of Everybody Hates Chris, which originally aired from 2005 to 2009 on UPN and The CW, is currently in development, our sister site Deadline reports. Rock is expected to return as the show’s narrator, the same role he filled in the live-action series, but no other voice casting has been confirmed.
