    Yes, post traumatic stress disorder can be cured with proper diagnosis and adequate treatment. The period of treatment varies from person to person. Management includes both pharmacological and non pharmacological therapies. Symptoms are usually managed initially with medications. SSRI’s, atypical antipsychotics, de-addiction medications for alcohol or substance abuse and beta blockers are all found to be useful. Exposure therapy, group therapy, exercise, recreational activities, vocational rehabilitation, meditation, psychological support and close follow-up are few non pharmacological methods that are being followed.
