My wife and I enjoyed a getaway at the Mansion House during the last week of October, and it was spectacular! The inn itself is historic, yet comfortable and cozy, and located in a great location in Vineyard Haven within walking distance of cool shops, bars and restaurants. The service was excellent - our perfectly-furnished room was clean and comfortable, with a great view of the ocean, and was cleaned and serviced promptly each morning. If you bring you vehicle over as we did, parking is nearby and convenient. And the staff was simply great, especially a woman named Angela at the front desk who was especially accommodating and pleasant; not only was she incredibly helpful with tips and directions, she even surprised us with a bottle of champagne on our last day there! While our stay would certainly have had a different feel in the summer with the added crowds and expense, I would add that staying at the Mansion House in late October is the perfect autumn getaway! There was a fun Halloween Parade that went right by the Inn one afternoon, and walking the beautiful old neighborhood right near the Inn was so festive with people in costumes, trick or treaters and decorated houses. We also took the opportunity to explore the entire island, including the spectacular Aquinnah Cliffs, which was resplendent in incredible Fall New England foliage. All in all, a very pleasurable and relaxing experience, which for us was like a mini or second honeymoon. I would highly recommend the Mansion House to anyone!

We paid $580 per night after taxes. It was not worth the money we paid. The room had a television set from the early 1990's. Many channels were not available. Everything was clean and the staff in the front office was helpful. However, that was not enough for me. I was expecting a room with the view that was not given. Hence, buyer be aware because in small captions it was written that the room with a a view was not promised. It was upon availability. The roof top was excellent and worth climbing the five floors up. I would not stay there again! Save your money and go to the island for the day!
