WEBMoultrie is the county seat and largest city of Colquitt County, Georgia, United States. It is the third largest city in Southwest Georgia, behind Thomasville and Albany. As of the 2020 census, Moultrie's population was 14,638. It was originally known as Ochlockoney until it was incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly in 1859.

WEBMoultrie, GA On December 13, 1879, a preliminary county seat charter was adopted and A.C. Butts donated 50 acres in the center of the county for an administrative concentration point. It was named Moultrie, after General William Moultrie, a Revolutionary War hero.

WEBOn December 27, 1890, the General Assembly passed an act to incorporate the Town of Moultrie in the County of Colquitt and to define the limits and powers of the same. On December 16, 1895, the General Assembly again passed an act to reincorporate the Town of Moultrie as the City of Moultrie.
