Makita's RP2301FC 3-1/4HP Variable Speed Plunge Router delivers power, precision and smooth plunge action. Features include variable speed, electronic speed control, an electric brake and much mroe. The motor boasts 15 amps of power and runs at up to 22, 000 RPM for exceptionally smooth routing. The speed can be dialed down to as low as 9, 000 RPM for spinning larger bits, and the built-in electronic speed control maintain constant speed under load. The soft start feature provides jolt-free start-ups, while an electric brake spins the bit down quickly after the router is shut off. The RP2301FC has a plunge capacity of 0' to 2-3/4', enabling deep mortising operations. Linear ball bearings promote smooth plunging action. Features that enhance durability include oversized ball-bearing construction and a built-in fan with labyrinth to minimize dust entry. The ergonomic rubberized handles enhance comfort, while the built-in two-finger switch and lock-on trigger allows easy continuous operation. For dimly lit conditions, two built-in LED lights aid visibility. Plunge depth adjustment is accomplished with a quick-release and microadjustment control, while three preset depth stops let you quickly return to previous commonly used settings. The shaft lock enables fast bit changes, and the tool-free template guide system is easy to use.
