Makitas SP6000J 6-1/2" Plunge Cut Circular Saw slides along a 55" guide rail (Item #58596 sold separately) to produce straight, accurate cuts with minimal tear-out. The saw's powerful 12-amp motor powers through stock up to 2-3/16' thick at 90°. It has soft start for smooth start-ups, plus electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load. The SP6000J1 is a portable alternative to a table saw-ideal for use on the jobsite or in workshops where space is tight. Magnesium components reduce weight to enhance portability. The blade bevels from -1° to 48° with positive stops at 22.5° and 45°. Whether cutting straight or beveled, the blade enters the material on the same cutting line, which makes aligning the track easy and keeps splinters to a minimum. The saw can also cut as close as 11/16' away from a wall-ideal for trimming flooring. The built-in depth stop allows a preliminary cut of 1/16' to be performed before the through-cut for splinter-free results. The variable speed dial (2, 000-5, 200 RPM) allows the user to set the speed for optimum performance in a variety of materials. The built-in torque limiter helps prevent motor burnout, while the electric brake makes sequential cuts faster. A lock-lever attaches the saw to the rail system so the saw stays on the anodized aluminum rail when positioned for a bevel cut. The smooth and convenient plunge release lever is designed for comfort, and the depth adjustment with large scale is easy to set. Track shown (Item #58596) not included. Package w/ track (item #53461) is available.
