The Makita XPK01Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Planer combines power and features with cordless convenience. It spins the cutters at 14, 000 RPM for fast, accurate stock removal, and will plane up to 3-1/4' wide and 5/64' deep in a single pass. The two double-edge carbide blades in the cutter head can be rotated when dull, and easily replaced when needed, thanks to the thoughtfully engineered blade setting system. The depth adjustment knob features an easy-to-read scale and click detents for fast, fool-proof setup. A spring-loaded stand is included to elevate the base and protect the blades and workpiece. Weighing only 7.4 pounds (with battery, sold separately), the XPK01Z has a high power-to-weight ratio and an ergonomic design, with rubberized soft grips on the front and rear handles. The electric brake brings the cutter head to a quick stop so you can set the tool down or change your settings. The tool features Star Protection technology, which allows the tool and Star-Protection equipped battery to exchange data in real time to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. The planer can accept Makita 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries (sold separately), including Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol indicating Star Protection inside.
