The Rikon #20-800H 8' Benchtop Jointer features a helical head with six rows of carbide insert cutters-16 carbide cutters in all. Each insert cutter has two edges for for an exceptionally smooth, flat jointed surface. The cutters can be rotated to expose a fresh edge, and when it comes time to replace them (see #53059), there is no need to level the knives as with a traditional jointer. The jointer itself features rigid, all-metal construction, machined aluminum tables with integral extensions that pull out for up to 51-1/2' of support, a quick depth setting mechanism with scale, and an adjustable fence that tilts from 90° to 45°. It also comes with a spring-loaded safety guard, dust port, an easily accessible front-mounted on/off switch and two push blocks. Feb 13, 2021Very easy to set up, gets clogged if you dont have a dust collection system, so I just took the housing off and put the box under the out feed table and it works great. Full review by acmetools.com
Apr 10, 2021After setup and checking adjustments (they were spot on) ran some 1x6 clear pine that was to be made into baseboard molding. Very smooth finish and only required 2 passes through jointer set at 1/16"… Full review by acmetools.com
Jul 2, 2021Tool works great but design is poor. There is no room for my fingers at base to pick up the tool. The manual specifies user should not lift tool by table or extension arms, but I have no other option… Full review by acmetools.com
